BIO

As a classically trained pianist and a homegrown church choir singer, Lacey used the skills she learned over the years to craft her own songs with driving melodies and a modern hint of soul. After playing in countless coffee shops, bars, restaurants, breweries, and sidewalks, Lacey worked her way up to open for acts including Stephen Kellogg, Eric Hutchinson & the Believers, Rufus Wainwright, Mason Jennings, & Reina del Cid. As she built traction and a steady fanbase, Lacey received full Kickstarter support that allowed her to record her debut full-length, full band album at Creation Audio in Minneapolis. The album was released to a sold-out crowd at Aster Cafe in April 2019.

behind the album

“Where to begin. This album, ‘Over Again,’ is something I’ve been dreaming of creating for as long as I can remember. I had no idea where to start, or how to make an album, but there was no doubt in my mind that it would be a huge step towards my goal career of becoming a full-time touring musician. While I juggled the struggle of balancing a day job and playing cover gigs here and there, I decided to use my two weeks of built-up PTO to follow one of my favorite musicians on tour; I wanted to get a tiny glimpse of what it might be like to do this music thing. The trip was a wake up call and reminded me all ‘over again’ why I’m chasing the stage. When I came back home, I started writing. Two EPs, hundreds of gigs, countless notebooks later…I was ready to create my debut LP. The lyrics tell stories of growth, perseverance, heartbreak, motivation, and more. I pulled 12 phenomenal musicians into the studio with me to bring the songs to life. I can’t wait to share these songs with you. Thank you for following my journey!”
